Mr Abba Kyari and 6 other defendants arraigned before Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court (FHC), Abuja, by officials of the NDLEA on Monday, March 7, 2022 over drug trafficking related offences.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arraigned suspended police officer Abba Kyari and 6 others at a Federal High Court in Abuja, for drug trafficking related offenses.
The Disgraced Police officer was arraigned before Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court (FHC), Abuja, on Monday.
Abba Kyari who is currently facing multiple criminal cases, has pleaded not guilty to the 8 count charges brought before him by the NDLEA.
According to the NDLEA, Mr Kyari, between January 19 and 25, dealt in 17.55 kilograms of cocaine.
He is also being charged with obstruction of justice through attempted bribery of NDLEA officers.
Other Defendants in the charge marked FHC/ABJ/57/2022 includes ACP Sunday J. Ubia, ASP Bawa James, Insp. Simon Agirigba and Insp. John Nuhu, who are members of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
Others are Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne, two alleged drug traffickers that were arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
Abba Kyari who was the Commander of Force Intelligence Response Team, had also been indicted by a US District Court in California for his alleged involvement in illegal dealings with famous Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Raymond Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi, who is currently undergoing trial for fraud in the US.
