Conservative Canadian Member of Parliament – Candice Bergen, has hit out at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following comments he made against protests and the freedom convoy truckers recently.
The MP also insisted that Trudeau apologize to the patriotic Canadians who have staged a peaceful protest; terming them as ‘peace and loving’.
Justin Trudeau had accused the protesters of spreading hateful message during a public address, specifically termed as ‘hateful rhetoric’ with claims that the truckers posed ‘violence toward fellow citizens’.
Parliament Member Bergen also issued a reminder to the House of Commons; insisting Trudeau wore ‘blackface more times than he can remember’.
“I do get very defensive of Canadians who are outside today. Patriotic, peace loving Canadians who are called misogynist and racist by the prime minister.
“So again, I will ask the prime minister, who may I remind this House, wore blackface on more times than he can remember. Apologize to the peace loving, patriotic Canadians who are outside right now,” Bergen stated.
Recently, tech billionaire also made mocking remarks towards the Canadian Prime Minister, saying that the freedom truckers protest showed that the government comprised of a small fringe minority.
The protests—which have spanned on for days—have remained peaceful, with local news agencies reporting daily from Ottawa. However, a recent police investigation have been opened into criminal charges involving the dishonour of the National War Memorial and the use of the Terry Fox’s statue to display a ‘Mandate Freedom’ sign.
