UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, were on Sunday recorded humouring at a picture of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.

Both leaders who were in Germany for the G7 Summit, laughed at an infamous photo of Putin riding a horse bare-chested. They were joined by other leaders at a gathering in Schloss Elmau in the Bavarian Alps.

‘Shall we take our clothes off?..We all have to show that we’re tougher than Putin,’ Johnson joked.

PM Trudeau of Canada joined the laughter trail saying to the group, ‘We’ve got to show our pecs’.

The picture which surfaced online was taken in 2009 while the Russian leader was riding a horse recreationally. There were also jokes made on the size of jets both leaders used to get to the G7 summit. Earlier they had arrived from the Commonwealth meeting held in Rwanda on separate flights.

A ‘Canada Force One’ conveyed Justin Trudeau, while Johnson travelled on his official Airbus jet.

The G7 Summit will be centered on climate change and other discussions key to the global space. Through a bilateral meeting, Johnson warmed Emmanuel Macron, the French President, on the downside of settling the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. According to the Prime Minister, an attempt at a settlement could hand Putin ‘license to manipulate’ other countries. He reiterated the dangers of a compromise, stating the move will ‘only cause enduring instability’.
