The Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, has announced the suspension of the Abuja-Kaduna train service after terrorists it was attacked by Terrorists on Monday night.
The train with over 970 passengers on board was attacked by the terrorists with explosives, followed by sporadic gunshots. The attack led to the killing, injuring and kidnapping of some passengers.
The NRC announced the suspension of its Abuja-Kaduna train service via a tweet on Tuesday.
“Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended.
“Further communication would be given in due course,” NRC wrote.
Two staffs working on the Abuja-Kaduna train identified as Loretta and Abdul were confirmed dead. A former deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala, who was among the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers, was shot by the terrorists during the attack.
A similar attack by terrorists had occurred In October last year, on the same Abuja-Kaduna train service.
Nigeria has continued to be ravaged by terrorists attack across the country, threatening the existence of Nigeria, with little or no political will from this present Muhammad Buhari administration to put an end to the menace.
