Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked Elon must for setting up Starlink Satellite internet service for “destroyed cities” amidst ongoing Russian Invasion of his country.
Several Ukrainian Cities had lost internet connections, due to Russia’s bombing of critical Civilian and military infrastructure across the country.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was “grateful” to the Tesla founder for supporting the country under siege with both “words and deeds”.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a tweet, that he spoke with the SpaceX CEO, and that Ukraine would receive more Starlink antennas in the coming days, to assist destroyed cities without internet access.
“I’m grateful to him for supporting Ukraine with words and deeds. Next week we will receive another batch of Starlink systems for destroyed cities.”
Zelensky said he also discussed possible space projects with Elon Musk. “But I’ll talk about this after the war,” He added.
Elon Musk, However, warned Ukrainians that the Starlink systems could become an easy target for Russian forces since deploying them to the country, and asked them to use the technology “with caution.”
“Starlink is the only non-Russian communications system still working in some parts of Ukraine, so probability of being targeted is high. Please use with caution,” He said in a Tweet on Thursday.
“Turn on Starlink only when needed and place antenna away as far away from people as possible,” He added.
