Video appears to show oil facility on fire in Belgorod, Russia, after Ukrainian attack helicopters ‘strike.’

Russia has accused Ukrainian helicopters of striking an oil facility inside Russia territory, 20 miles (ca. 32 km) from the Ukrainian border.

The attack which took place in the Russian region of Belgorod was carried out by two Ukrainian Mil Mi-24 helicopter gunships in the early hours of Friday, as announced by the Belgorod regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Gladkov said that the resulting blaze injured two workers, while some areas in the city, located close to the Ukrainian border, were being evacuated.

“Explosions were heard on the territory of Belgorod and the Belgorod region,” Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

“The incident took place near the village of Krasniy Oktyabr. The head of the village is in direct contact with me and has given me all the information. There are no casualties or injuries among the residents.

“I’ll post the reason for this later,” he added.

Ukraine is yet to confirm the attack, and analysts have cautioned to be aware of a ‘false flag’ attack

If confirmed, It would be the second time that Ukraine has attacked inside Russia after the Millerovo airbase strike

On Wednesday, a similar explosion heard from an arms depot in Belgorod, was rumored to be carried out by Ukrainian forces, but later discovered to be caused by human error.
